Work Experience & Optional Essays
Thanks for the webinar! Here is the question I posted but that didn't get answered, and it might be helpful to others.
Re: work experience & optional essays. I've done few job fellowships and have typically just presented them as regular work experience without listing them as fellowships. Is that something I need to explain in the optional essay given that the fellowships are usually a year long? Or should I just refer to fellow in the job title on the resume and forego the optional essay? Or do I need to address at all?
- Eric Allen expert NP @ayodele I wou ld consider the latter. As long as that was your only job at the time, I would just include the fellowship under "Work Experience" in your resume and just explain it in the interview if you're asked the question. I don't recommend proactively discussing. That being said, most applications do ask for salary information from the job, so if it was unpaid, I would address in the application where salary is requested (there should be a short description section in most applications).
