Recommendations
For recommendations: my direct superior is a Director, but I also work with our VP on a daily basis. Is there an advantage/disadvantage to getting the VP to write it, even though she is not technically my manager? Also, I have a lot of options from past experiences to choose from for the second letter. Do you have any advice for the type of person I should ask?
Thanks,
Hunter

- Kofi Kankam expert The advantage to having your VP write it is that they may be seen to have more of an advanced perspective on your skills, mgmt, etc...But, honestly, the director sounds like the better person b/c they know your strengths/weaknesses well, can speak to more (and perhaps better) projects/roles on which you've worked, and can indicate how you have responded to feedback. Caveat - if there is a particular role/job that the VP worked with you on, go with them. In terms of your second recommendation, I like having someone outside of work in a volunteer capacity, if possible. If not, go with a second work. I will add that it's more important to determine what you need written about/communicated first, and then determine who should write it. {{ 1528119323622+1-1 | date : 'short' }}
