aida18mba Good grades but school doesn't calculate GPA My undergrad grades are generally good, with some pass/fail classes included on my transcript. My grades calculate to a 3.7 GPA, but my school does not officially calculate GPA... How will admissions committees review my scores? Do I need to update my resume and applications to reflect the estimate? Thank you. #MBA {{ 1538080073934+1-1 | date : 'short' }} my Eric Allen likes this mba Share Facebook Twitter LinkedIn All Replies User Picks
Eric Allen expert You can definitely include a number on your resume and you may be asked to self-report a GPA, but you will almost certainly be asked to upload the transcript at some point. Don't take any liberties (i.e. pass = 'A' - it doesn't!) - as long as you've done your diligence in calculating, you're good to go. You won't likely be asked, but if schools think you took liberties with estimates, it may not be seen favorably, so you should always be prepared to provide any backup. {{ 1538080282547+1-1 | date : 'short' }} Share Facebook Twitter LinkedIn
aida18mba Thanks so much for the tip Eric. While my non-graded courses are all, I did not include them in my GPA calculation, so no liberties taken there. Is there an appropriate place in the application where I could explain my GPA calculation methodology? Or is that too much? My concern is that my transcript will not reflect my technical skill, so I plan to highlight that in my resume, other coursework and certificates. {{ 1538154566164+1-1 | date : 'short' }} Share Facebook Twitter LinkedIn

Eric Allen expert Don't need to. Schools know the different grade policies at the various schools, especially Brown. You're doing the right thing: use your application, resume, essays and interview to bring out skills the transcript don't show. Btw, not all classes at Brown were Pass only - it's Pass / Fail :-) {{ 1538159910338+1-1 | date : 'short' }} my Shawn Eliav likes this Share Facebook Twitter LinkedIn
