Are on campus visits necessary?
Visiting campuses can be very expensive because of the cost of travel... I would like to see as many schools as possible but don't want to break the bank. Is it really that important if I visit in person and do the whole tour/admissions office thing?
Hi Bethany, while traveling to different colleges can be expensive, there are a few alternatives to visiting campuses in the flesh. You can look on the campus website for a link to a virtual tour. This experience can clarify some visual aspects of campus, as well as privy you to *some* of what resources a campus may offer. However, if you can manage to get to some local campuses without breaking the bank, I would highly recommend doing so. Regardless of where you wind up visiting, there are a few things you should keep in mind when considering which schools to apply to or attend.
