At the bare minimum, you should shadow a physician a few times, but ideally, you should create for yourself a long-term clinical/caring role: volunteer in a hospital, transport a senior to medical appointments over several months, etc. This will make you a better candidate by demonstrating your commitment, but also help you confirm that medicine is the right career for you!
