Rolling vs. Round admissions
So with rolling admissions it is clearly best to apply earlier than later. But with business schools that have multiple deadlines, or rounds, is it okay if I wait and retake the GMAT again and submit my application in the second or third round? Or is detrimental to getting accepted if I do not apply during the first round?
- Kofi Kankam expert 2nd round yes, 3rd round no. There is no functional difference between round 1 and round 2.
- Eric Allen expert Well, I would generally agree that R1/R2 don't have measurable differences, but it matters more if you are outside of the typical candidate. Schools general look toward candidates that meet certain criteria, so if you are outside of that general framework (i.e. non-standard background, older, younger, etc.), R1 is a better place to be than R2. That being said, only apply when you're ready and have the appropriate test scores and background.
