Steps to take after being waitlisted?
What are the proper steps to take after being waitlisted?
- Christina Taber-Kewene expert Hi Zari, that is a great question. The simple answer is to do as directed by the school. So, if the school says you should write a letter of continuing interest (LOI), then do so immediately. If they ask you not to make contact, then don't. But if they don't give any instruction, please follow up by email and call to express your great interest. They need to know that if they admit you, you will enroll. If that is the case, make it CLEAR! I hope that is helpful. Please reach out directly to me for any additional expert admissions advice. And good luck!
- Jennie Rothman expert One more thought on this question, Zari. IF a school is open to contact from waitlisted applicants, be sure to update them on new accomplishments or honors. If you've received an award for your work, or achieved Dean's List, or completed a relevant internship, let the law school know about your accomplishment and how it will enable you to contribute to the law school community, should you be admitted. Keep your update targeted and succinct, and definitely DON"T inundate the admissions office with emails every time something happens. One update letter is sufficient. Best of luck!
