Is it frowned upon if I were to attend community college to save money as I get my associates, then transfer to a University for the last 2 years? It would really help my family’s financial situation but if it is detrimental to my education and potentially applying to grad school, I would consider taking loans to attend a regular 4 year institution. Please let me know your thoughts, thankyou.
- Erica Molfetto expert Hi Bethany, community college is certainly NOT frowned upon. In fact, based on your family's financial situation, it may be the most logical, most economic option. You should research what types of programs your state offers in terms of opportunities in 4-year colleges. For example, in my home state of New Jersey if you have a GPA of 3.2 or higher, you can attend a 2 year community college AND finish your degree at a state university FOR FREE! @Savena Wright may have some more comprehensive advice for you too.
