Is it OK for an applicant, who is working in his family business, to get a recommendation letter from a mentor (who works for the company, but is not related)?
- Eric Allen expert Santosh, sorry for the delay. I was in a situation where I was working in a family business when I applied to b-school. Your situation could be OK, but you really want to make sure you have someone who knows your work well. Often, if you can get someone in the family w/out your last name that could work; a client who knows you well could work; and perhaps someone who worked with you at a previous job. How well does the mentor know you?
